About Our Training
Kauśala (कौशल, Sanskrit, pronounced “ko-shuh-la”) means “skillful intelligence”. Our program is devoted to the art of cultivating teachers who skillfully and intelligently teach their students using the knowledge gained throughout the course coupled with personal experience. We understand that you can not teach what you don’t know or have not experienced yourself; therefore, this course includes lots of hands-on experience as well as academia, as follows:
Highly skilled, experienced and attentive faculty with a combined teaching experience of over 60 years.
A well-balanced curriculum with strong grounding in alignment, anatomy, philosophy & meditation.
Very small class sizes with no more than 7 students, emphasizing individualized attention.
Hands-on experience and practice teaching.
Friendly and encouraging environment.
Opportunities to teach immediately upon graduation.

Yes! People take the training not just to become a yoga teacher but also to deepen their practice. While you may not be able to start teaching immediately upon graduation as we strongly believe being a student of yoga is essential to the path of becoming teacher, this course will help enrich and deepen your own yoga practice.

You are allowed to miss one weekend (2 full days) out of 12 weekends. You are responsible for getting notes from your fellow students. If you miss more than 1 weekend, you will need to arrange a private session with missed instructor with additional fee payable to the teacher trainer.

Yes, you can still take the training! If you are not able to do certain yoga poses or practice, you will be asked to observe. Observing the practice could be as informative as actually doing the practice.

You are able to retake it within a month after finishing the program. We are here to help you succeed and give you feedback what you would need to work on in order to pass the tests and help you through every step of the way!

Yes! After successful completion of the training, you will be invited to teach a donation based community class at HMY. This is a great way to get teaching experience and to give back the community.
