Frequently Asked Questions

  • Our Executive Director, Amy Davis, oversees the children’s programming. Amy earned her MSEd from Bank Street College in NYC, completed a year of training at Columbia Teacher’s College with Lucy Caulken’s Writer’s Workshops for Children, and completed the certification in Teaching Mindfulness to Children at the Interdependence Project in NYC. as well as receiving her certificate in Art Therapy through The New School for Social Research at the same time she completed her BA. She uses all of this together with her experience teaching children ages 3-17 and raising 3 kids of her own to develop our curriculum, structure the day, and respond to interests of the children on any given day.

  • In addition to Amy, another adult with teaching experience will be working with the children together with two helpers. Helpers are chosen from a pool of applicants interested in pursuing a career in child services. Additionally, we hope to continue using our tweens trained in our Guidepost program as role models and partner “buddies” to the younger children when we travel outside of the classroom.
